Brady Smith Closes Strong 2014 Season with Knoxville Nationals

Brady Smith Racing (BSR) wrapped up their version of the 2014 racing season on September 25-27 in the 11th Annual 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals' at the hallowed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. The three-day crown jewel spectacular started with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary programs at the Marion County fairgrounds speedplant. On Thursday night, Brady Smith won his heat race prior to finishing thirteenth in the final rundown of the 25-lap sprint. At Knoxville on Friday evening, Brady was knocked out of a transfer spot in his heat race on the final lap by Scott Bloomquist and was forced to scratch from the remainder of the night due to the damage from the unfortunate incident.

By virtue of his solid points effort on Thursday, Brady earned the rights to the outside of the tenth row for the start of Saturday's 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals' headliner, which once again boasted a hefty $40,000 payday. In front of a huge grandstands crowd and the television cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios, the Solon Springs, Wisconsin native climbed up inside of the top ten in the first half of the 100-lapper before getting caught up in a tangle with Dale McDowell on lap 49. When the preliminary night of the annual 'John Seitz Memorial' at River Cities (ND) Speedway did not go as planned for Brady Smith Racing on Friday, September 5, the #2 team headed to AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin on Saturday evening, September 6 and captured their seventh feature win of the 2014 campaign! Brady Smith won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the 40-lap 'Northern Nationals' feature event from the outside of the front row. Night two of the annual 'Labor Day Shootout' wrapped up the busy weekend for Brady Smith Racing tonight at Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, Minnesota. Brady Smith won his heat race from the pole position prior to rolling off from the inside of the third row in the feature event. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin star then picked up his second win of the holiday weekend, as he beat Jake Redetzke, Jeff Massingill, Jeff Provinzino, and John Kaanta to the checkers to nab the $3,000 winner's check!!!

(August 30, 2014) Following a day off, the #2 team rolled into Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, Minnesota tonight for the first of two races that make up the annual 'Labor Day Shootout' for the WISSOTA Late Models. Brady Smith moved up five spots in his heat race to finish third and later started the $3,000 to win feature event from the inside of the second row. Brady Smith Racing Runner-Up in WOOLMS Visit to Merritt!

The Brady Smith Racing team strolled into the Wolverine State of Michigan on August 22-23 for a pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series battles. On Friday night at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan, Brady Smith knocked down the tenth fastest lap in Group A during qualifying prior to grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the seventh row in the 50-lap headliner, Brady unfortunately only completed one circuit and was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fourth place effort.

At Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan on Saturday evening, another $10,000 top prize was on the line and Brady was gunning for his fifth victory of 2014. He qualified eighth quickest in Group A during time trials and later finished third in heat race action. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin standout then vaulted from his tenth starting spot in the 50-lapper to lead the stellar field from laps 19-29. Brady Smith Sweeps Blaine Brothers Challenge Series Two-Step!

Brady Smith's 2014 win total now stands at four following a weekend sweep of Blaine Brothers Challenge Series action in the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota on August 8-9! On Friday night at the nearby AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin, Brady ran second in his heat race prior to rolling off from the inside of the third row in the 40-lap headliner. The #2 BSR team wrapped up the 27th edition of the 'USA Nationals' tonight at Cedar Lake (WI) Speedway, as all eyes were fixated on the $50,000 top prize. Brady Smith started the 100-lap headliner from the eighth position, but unfortunately completed only 25 circuits. He was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fourth place performance in tonight's 'USA Nationals,' which was won by Jimmy Owens.

(July 29, 2014) A very busy week in the Badger State of Wisconsin kicked off tonight with a visit to Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wisconsin, as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presided over a $10,000 to win battle. Brady Smith timed in fifth quickest in Group A during qualifying and later grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his heat race. Unfortunately, Brady was only able to complete 27 circuits in the 50-lap headliner and was relegated to a twentieth place effort.

Brady Smith Fifth in Summer Nationals Make-Up at Fairbury!

Brady Smith Racing rolled into Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on July 25-26 for the huge 'Prairie Dirt Classic' weekend. Things kicked off at FALS with a $10,000 to win UMP Summer Nationals main event on Friday night, which was postponed by rain from back on June 21. Brady Smith, who had won a heat race on the initial date, started the 50-lap race from the inside of the second row. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin native then ran amongst the leaders throughout the distance and eventually garnered a solid fifth place performance behind only winner Billy Moyer, Ryan Unzicker, Bobby Pierce, and Rick Eckert!

Also on Friday, preliminary action was held for the 25th edition of the 'Prairie Dirt Classic,' which was sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. Brady knocked down the eighth fastest lap in Group B during time trials, but unfortunately suffered mechanical troubles during his heat race that dropped him to a tenth place finish. Instead of starting from the tail of Saturday's consolation race, Brady opted to leave the Land of Lincoln and was not able to compete for the $25,000 top prize in the 'Prairie Dirt Classic.' Another $10,000 top prize was on the line in the "Wild West Tour" finale tonight at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Brady Smith qualified fourth fastest in Group A during World of Outlaws Late Model Series time trials prior to finishing a strong second in heat race action behind only prelim victor Shane Clanton. After drawing the pole position for the 50-lap headliner, Brady found himself near the front of the stellar field throughout the caution-free affair, eventually bringing home an impressive third place effort behind only winner Tim Fuller and runner-up Tim McCreadie!

(July 15, 2014) The third leg of the "Wild West Tour" took the Brady Smith Racing team to Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, South Dakota tonight for another $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series tilt. Brady Smith clicked off the fifteenth fastest lap during time trials and later finished third in heat race action behind only prelim winner Chub Frank and runner-up Eric Wells. (July 13, 2014) Night two of the "Wild West Tour" took place tonight at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota, as the annual running of the 'Gopher 50' paid $10,000 to the winner. Brady Smith posted the sixteenth fastest lap during the World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying session and later grabbed the fifth transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the 50-lap feature from the inside of the seventh row, Brady unfortunately only completed 24 circuits and wound up nineteenth in the final rundown tonight at Deer Creek.

(July 12, 2014) Heavy rain showers across southeast Minnesota have forced Deer Creek Speedway officials to postpone tonight's NAPA Auto Parts 'Gopher 50' for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series until Sunday evening, July 13. A large crowd of Super Late Model teams were on the Spring Valley, Minnesota grounds this afternoon ready to compete in the second leg of the WOOLMS four-race "Wild West Tour" before the persistent showers led officials to reset the entire $10,000 to win program to Sunday.

(July 10, 2014) The annual World of Outlaws Late Model Series "Wild West Tour" kicked off tonight at Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, Minnesota! After drawing the pole position prior to the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap feature, Brady led the first fifteen circuits before giving way to Chase Junghans. Brady Smith clicked off the third fastest lap in Group B during qualifying and later placed second in his heat race behind only prelim victor Billy Moyer. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 40-lap feature, Brady was able to work his way past a couple of competitors at the St. Louis-area venue to place fifth in the final finishing order behind only winner Brian Birkhofer, Billy Moyer, Bobby Pierce, and Randy Korte.

(June 27, 2014) Tonight's stop on the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals trail, scheduled for Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky, has been rained-out, series officials announced this afternoon. The annual 'Chris Smith Memorial,' which was slated to pay $10,000 to the winner, will not be rescheduled as part of the "Hell Tour."

(June 21, 2014) Brady Smith and his #2 team followed the UMP Summer Nationals grind to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois tonight for another $10,000 to win showdown. Brady qualified eleventh quickest in Group B during time trials, but later stormed to the front of his heat race to take the exciting win over Billy Moyer, Bobby Pierce, and Shannon Babb. After drawing the third starting spot for the 50-lap feature, inclement weather invaded the Fairbury area and postponed the remainder of the program to a later date.

(June 20, 2014) Brady Smith Racing traveled to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois tonight for another UMP Summer Nationals tilt, which paid $10,000 to the winner. Brady Smith started his evening by timing in thirteenth fastest in Group B during the qualifying session. Unfortunately, Brady narrowly missed out on transferring into the 50-lap feature after finishing fifth in his loaded heat race and fourth in the B-Main.

(June 18, 2014) Brady Smith was back in competition with the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tonight at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois, as a $5,000 winner's check was on the line. Brady knocked down the fifth quickest lap in Group B during qualifying and later placed second in heat race action. After starting the 40-lap main event from the outside of the third row, Brady was able to move up three positions on the reworked racetrack in the feature to claim a strong third place outing behind only winner Jason Feger and runner-up Ryan Unzicker.

Smith Climbs to Eighth in Masters Event at Cedar Lake Speedway

Brady Smith Racing returned to action following a couple of weeks off on June 13-14 at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. The 16th Annual 'Masters' weekend was held and the grueling UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour rolled into CLS to preside over a pair of high-profile races. A strong field of 32 competitors signed in for night one on Friday, as a $5,000 top prize was on the line.

Brady Smith clicked off the fourth fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race behind only prelim winner Rodney Sanders, Brian Birkhofer, and Tim McCreadie. After starting the 40-lap main event from the outside of the eighth row, Brady was able to rally past eight competitors to finish eighth in the final rundown. The doubleheader weekend at Cedar Lake was then scheduled to conclude on Saturday evening with the 'Masters' finale, but the $10,000 to win program was washed out by heavy rain showers. Brady Smith Enters 22nd Annual Show-Me 100 at Wheatland

Brady Smith and his #2 team invaded the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri on May 22-24 for the 22nd edition of the Lucas Oil 'Show-Me 100.' The huge three-day weekend kicked off on Thursday night with the inaugural 'Cowboy Classic,' which was sanctioned solely by the Lucas Oil MLRA Series. Brady qualified thirty-first fastest in Group A and later finished tenth in his stacked heat race and sixth in his B-Main. Unfortunately, the Solon Springs, Wisconsin native was unable to make the start in the $5,045 to win feature event, which was ultimately won by Scott Bloomquist.

On Friday evening, preliminary action for the 'Show-Me 100' was held and Brady started his night off by laying down the fourth quickest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to slipping back to sixth in his loaded heat race. Following another sixth place performance in his B-Main on Saturday, Brady once again wound up sixth in the $2,000 to win Non-Qualifiers Race and unfortunately missed out on the crown jewel main event, which boasted a $30,000 top prize and was won by Don O'Neal. Solid Sixth Place Effort for Brady Smith in Spring Shootout

Brady Smith Racing made a trip to the Land of Lincoln on May 16-17 to compete in the 'Spring Shootout' at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. The two-day showdown at the 1/4-mile bullring was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and was scheduled to boast a pair of $10,000 winner's checks. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas and inclement weather canceled Friday night's tilt.

On Saturday evening at LaSalle, Brady Smith ran third in heat race action, which lined him up starting from the inside of the fifth row in the $10,000 to win feature event. During the course of the 50-lapper, Brady was able to move past three racecars en route to a solid sixth place performance. Brady Smith and his #2 team headed to the Hawkeye State of Iowa on May 9-10 for a pair of $3,000 to win showdowns, which were both co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil MLRA Series and Corn Belt Clash tour. On Friday night, the Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa held a rare special event on the 1/4-mile oval. Brady ran third in his heat race and second in his B-Main, which lined him up starting from the inside of the tenth row in the 40-lap feature event. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin standout then blasted past thirteen competitors during the caution-free A-Main en route to a strong sixth place run behind only winner Chris Simpson, Terry Phillips, Brian Birkhofer, Ryan Gustin, and Chad Simpson.

The action quickly shifted to Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa, Iowa on Saturday evening for another $3,000 to win co-sanctioned battle. Brady finished second in heat race action and later rolled off from the inside of the fourth row in the 40-lapper. Brady Smith Racing Returns to Action in $20k Illini 100

For the first time since the completion of Speedweeks 2014 in Florida, Brady Smith was in competition on April 25-26 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series once again presided over the 6th Annual 'Illini 100' and a whopping $20,000 top prize was up for grabs. In preliminary action on Friday night, Brady clicked off the fourteenth fastest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to winding up eighth in his stacked heat race.

When Saturday evening rolled around at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds venue, Brady advanced up to third in his consolation event to grab the final transfer spot behind only B-Main winner Darren Friedman and runner-up Steve Sheppard, Jr. After rolling off from the outside of the eleventh row in the 100-lap extra-distance affair, Brady stayed on the lead lap and was able to climb seven positions en route to a fifteenth place performance.
